The composition is based on traditional melodies from Europe.
Daniel Schell and Ensemble Karo have already recorded 'Gira Girasole' a
set of compositions based on popular melodies from Italy. The CD was produced
by the Bigazzi brothers and is published on their label 'Materiali Sonori',
Firenze.
The new compositions are 'Baies sources' based on the original folk songs which inspired Bela Bertok.
Daniel had this idea of 'eternal recyclage' when visiting the Bartok Museum in
Budapest.'Rose au lie' based on a Greek folk tune brought in by Isabella.
Daniel has alredy a long experience in this domain as he studied and
practiced Indian music. Recently he has also studied African music, for
a commission by the Choir of Namur. This will be a set of vocal pieces
based on texts by African Poets, for a performance by the percussionist
Chris Joris and African musicians.
