Where
Place: Centre Culturel, Rossignol ( near Marbehan in the Belgian Ardens).

The Centre Culturel is part of a charming domain including a castle,
a parc and some new buildings conataining the classes and rooms.
Transport:
By car: Rossignol is a very small village, situated 5 km of Marbehan,
15 km of Neufchâteau, 60 km of Luxemburg City, 180 km of Brussels.
In Rossignol, the Center Culturel is in a parc, near to the church. We
will send a plan to the car drivers.
By train: The closest train station is Marbehan. On the line Brussels-Namur-
Arlon-Luxembourg city. From Brussels-Midi: There is a train leaving
every hour 36 min. The train stops in Marbehan every hour 51 min (at 2
H 15 from Brussels). From Luxembourg-city: There is a
train leaving every hour 27 min. it stops in Marbehan every hour
01 min ( at 34 min from Luxembourg).
If you come by train, let us know,
leave a message on our answering machine at (0032) (2) 532 48 94, and we
shall pick you up at Marbehan.Please try to be there in between 13h and
14 h (which means to take the train from Brussels Midi at 11h36)
Schedule:
- Friday . 14h arrival, welcome to the students. 15-17: lessons. 17-18:
master class . 19h: dîner.
-Saturday : 20h : public concert and dance
- Normal day schedule: 10am meditation with Ashok Pathak. 11am : lessons.
1pm Lunch. 2pm lessons. 5pm Walk and free time.
- Monday or Tuesday 20h: concert of the students
- Wednesday: the Seminar stops at 17h.
Payment:
You should have paid your fees (285 Eur) before you start the Seminar.
If not, you can pay in cash to Claudia on Friday.
Sleeping, personal effects:
You have to bring your sheets (We advise you to take a good sleeping
bag) . Blankets are there, provided by the centre. Bring also your own
towel. Attention: we are at an altitude of 400 m and so it can rain and
be cold. Bring rain coat, walk shoes, pullover and clothes in accordance.
Normally, end of August is rather sunny and we will go for bathing. Bring
your bath suit.
Bring your own little cushion to sit down at the music lessons and
the meditation.
Food:
There will be vegetarian Indian food, prepared by Mrs Majumdar. Every
day, you will receive a breakfast, a lunch and a light dinner. On Friday,
you will receive only an evening dinner. On Wedensday, only breakfast and
lunch. This is included in your fees. Attention: drinks are not included
in the price.
Musical Instruments:
You have to bring your personal instruments. There will be no instruments
to hire. If you wish to hire an instrument, check with us, prior to the
Seminar. The Seminar, will provide a tampura and an harmonium. .
Concert:
The Saturday night concert is included in your fees. Monday or Tuesday
night, there will be a concert-performance of the students. Students are
free to participate to this event. It is not an obligation for them.
Book:
The book of the school is "Practice of Indian Music" by Daniel Schell,
based on the practice of Ashok. Do not forget to bring your copy if you
have one. Although you do not absolutely need the book to follow the lessons,
it will be much easier if you have it because many songs we use are already
notated in it. You can buy the book there for 1200 F. For the tabla
lessons, you do not need this book.
