Babel goes out in 1978. by EMI-IBC It is a syncretic album which -as the title says - shows the various influences which Daniel and his group met during this period 1977-1980. The influences are essentially European, or Eurock, because Cos continues to tour relentlessly in France, Spain with manager Jordi Garcia and above all in Germany,, under the impulse of its manager Jürgen Hellweg with Bielefeld as logistic base.
First, there is a tendency to harmonised parts (babel, greeneldeo), Daniel studies a lot the Hindemith harmony books at this period of time.
Other influences which can be found are: Contemporary classical (cha cha cha), folk and pop themes (Mein Maschine is schoen, Oostend), the repetitive minimalism and the bartokian rock.
